As shoulder is in vertebrates , including humans , the body region to the shoulder joints called. It consists of the bones of the shoulder girdle , the head of the humerus and the soft tissues surrounding them .
The shoulder is divided into four regions in anatomy:
- anterior shoulder region ( trigonum clavipectorale , the triangle formed with the clavicle and chest muscle),
- lateral shoulder area ( deltoid region , area of the deltoid muscle),
- posterior shoulder region ( Regio scapularis , area of the shoulder blade) and the
- Armpit .
The front shoulder area belongs to the chest , the rear to the back .
