Fields of Fire is a song by Big Country from the year 1983 , that of Stuart Adamson, Mark Brzezicki, Tony Butler and Bruce Watson was written and on the album The Crossing appeared.

The song was released as a single on February 18, 1983.

The folk rock title then became a top ten hit in the UK and hit the US charts in February 1984. When evaluating their album The Crossing , Rolling Stone noted the title as "best anthem of the year" and praised the "guitar riffs" . Big Country singer and bassist Tony Butler describes the song as his favorite track.

Music video

The music video starts with a boy playing with his model train. The band members are passengers on the train and play the song there. When the train goes through a tunnel, the train stops because a musician is playing on the rails. The band gets off the train and goes to the musician, the train continues and the band wanders with the musician to the Battle of Culloden .
