Fingerprints is a heptalogy by the American writer Melinda Metz , who writes books for young adults. It is published in German translation by Egmont Schneider-Verlag . The first book was published in its original language (English) in 2001. It was then translated by Dorothee Haentjes and published in German in 2002.

Fingerprints is a series of books about high school student Rachel “Rae” Voight who develops a specific psychic ability: when she touches a fingerprint, she can “hear” the thoughts of the people who are thinking the moment they leave the fingerprint.
