Finkelstein's rule

With the Finkelstein rule (after Heinrich Finkelstein ) the fluid requirements of healthy newborns can be calculated.

Calculation:

The rule applies up to a total of 180 to 200 ml per kg of body weight, which is normally reached between the 7th and 10th day of life.
