Fire and Ice , subtitled The Daring Adventures of Cool Coyote is one of the British developers Graftgold produced platformers Run game which is in April 1992 for Amiga and PC appeared. Andrew Braybrook was the chief programmer .

Game content

The player takes on the role of Cool Coyote , the blue-furry hero of the game. Fire and Ice is a classic platform game in which the character moves jumping and hopping across several levels and has to take action against a myriad of opponents. Cool Coyote begins its journey in the Arctic and traverses exotic places such as Scotland and ancient Egypt . As a weapon, he can shoot ice pellets that freeze his opponents, or detonate snow bombs.

Six parts of a key have to be found in each level. This can be used to open the exit to the next level. Hiding next to the key is a small dog named Poppy, who follows the character after he is found. If Poppy also reaches the goal, the player receives an extra life.

Reviews

With its cartoon-like, very colorful design and the absence of screen violence, Fire and Ice is a typical game for the younger generation of players. It was also one of the last projects by Braybrook's company Graftgold and was highly praised by the trade press for its great ingenuity, good graphics and background music. Even today it is considered one of the outstanding games that appeared in the final stages of the Amiga. It received the rating "Particularly recommended" from Power Play (85%), an " ASM Hit" (10 out of 12 points) and an Amiga Joker Hit (86%).
