Fishing Hunting Shooting
The FISHING HUNTING SHOOTING is an international public exhibition for fishermen, hunters, shooters and outdoor, which every two years in February in Bern takes place. The organizer of FISCHEN JAGEN SCHIESSEN is BERNEXPO AG .
Creation and concept
In 1974, the population of the canton of Geneva passed a referendum on a general ban on militia hunting . As a result, voices were heard in other Swiss cantons to ban hunting. In this unfavorable climate for hunting and hunting, the urge to present hunting and fishing objectively and to improve the image of those who fish and hunt grew ever greater. Under the management of the former BEA bern expo AG (today Bernexpo AG), hunting and fishing associations got together and thought about a trade fair as a platform for interests. Later, the shooters were also involved, because on the one hand many fishermen and hunters are also active shooters at the same time, and on the other hand shooting in Switzerland was attacked from different sides.
In 1996 the first FISCHEN JAGEN SCHIESSEN was carried out. The fair took place annually until 1998, and every two years from 2000. In 2020 FISCHEN JAGEN SCHIESSEN will take place for the 14th time. In the exhibition, the entirety of nature is consistently shown, in which fishermen and hunters represent an important part of landscape and nature conservation.
