Wing pin

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The wing pen is the traditional identification mark of the stenographers. The “winged pen” is a metaphor for the high writing speed that can be achieved with shorthand . Sometimes a "winged pen" or other winged writing instrument is also used.

use

The wing pen is used in the current coat of arms of the German Stenographers Association . In addition, the Winklers Verlag used the designation wing pen for a magazine, which contained "contributions for commercial training and further education in schools and companies". This magazine was published from October 1929 and appears annually in September. Despite the name, however, since the takeover of Winklers Verlag, the magazine no longer contains articles on the subject of shorthand, but is now run as a customer magazine of Westermann Verlag , which provides information on current developments and new products in vocational training and further education.
