The flag of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea has been in use in its current form since 1992. On April 21, 1999, it was recognized as the official national flag of the Autonomous Republic of Ukraine .

The flag consists of three horizontal bars in blue, white and red in a ratio of 1: 4: 1. On May 6, 1992, parliament proclaimed the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, but an official flag was not yet available at that time. On June 5, 1992, five proposals were submitted to Parliament for decision. On September 24, 1992, the proposal of V. Trusov and A. Malgin , which originally had an emblem, was officially confirmed by the Supreme Soviet without the latter .
