The following functions are supported:

  • Passive FTP
  • All common FTP commands
  • SSL / TLS transfer
  • FXP and FXP SSL connections (server-to-server transfers) via PASV / PORT and SSCN

  • U3 and portable support from version 3.4

history

In April 1998, the founder Charles DeWeese talked to friends via Internet Relay Chat , who suggested that he program his own FXP client, since clients at the time did not, in their opinion, really work effectively.

After refusing for a few weeks, he allowed himself to be persuaded and started working on MyFXP with Visual Basic 4 . However, he soon realized that with Visual Basic he would quickly reach the limits of what was possible. One of his friends, ironically the inventor of LeapFTP, suggested Borland Delphi 4, which he then continued his work with. He renamed MyFXP to FlashFXP in June of that year and was able to provide version 1.0 on July 23, 1998.

Version 1.2 was the first shareware version of FlashFXP.

Version 2.0 was a milestone for the developer with the implementation of SSL / TLS support.

Around 2003 FlashFXP became so well known that DeWeese was no longer able to handle development, customer service and sales alone, so he signed an exclusive contract with iniCom Networks, Inc. and released version 3.0.

In late 2009, FlashFXP became part of the newly formed Opensight Software, LLC., Which is owned by DeWeese. Sales are now carried out fully automatically using Share-it, PayPal and the FlashFXP website. Customer service is provided in direct contact with the developers and volunteers in the forum.

Version 4.0 offers some bug fixes, new functions and a revised user interface.
