The Aviator's Cross was donated by Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands on August 28, 1941 as an award for military personnel who showed initiative, courage and perseverance in times of war.

In special cases, the award can also be made to civilians and foreigners.

Appearance

The decoration is a silver Teutonic cross . In the medallion is a flying eagle with the inscription Initiatief - Moed - Volharding (Initiative - Courage - Perseverance) and the year 1941 . The back is smooth.

Carrying method

The award is worn on a diagonally striped orange and white ribbon on the left chest.

Others

For repeated ceremony is a corresponding number of gold on the tape attached.
