Floor 13 is a computer game for DOS operating systems published by Virgin Interactive in 1991 . The game itself is set in the United Kingdom and puts the player in the role of the head of a fictional government agency that acts as a secret police .

Game world

The game world is conveyed in two-dimensional graphics. The player succeeds the director general of the organization who has been murdered . He can order wiretapping, contract killings, break-ins, torture and disinformation campaigns from his virtual desk. The player is informed about the course of the game via documents from the fictitious government authority.

The aim of the game is to keep the government in power by manipulating both terrorist organizations and the legal opposition through the player. If government polls drop below 50% for a long time, the player runs the risk of being fired. If the player's actions cause too much publicity, he will be murdered on the orders of the Prime Minister. If the player manages to keep the government in power for a year, he will be appointed prime minister himself.

Floor 13 was released for PC-DOS, Atari ST and Amiga.
