Flying fire

The term flying fire describes burning objects or materials that are whirled up by the thermal upward movement, fall down elsewhere and thus contribute to the spread of fires. In contrast to flying sparks , the parts and thus the risk of new fires are greater. Examples are burning paper or wood chips, but also leaves. Flying sparks are a common cause of the spread, e.g. B. in forest fires . Distances of more than 100 meters can be overcome.
