The last edition in the 36th year of publication was No. 9/1944. The successor title is the world aviation published from 1949 .
history
The initiator of the magazine, publisher and editor-in-chief was Oskar Ursinus , who was personally fascinated by aviation . The magazine soon became an important means of networking among its aviation enthusiasts. Ursinus successfully used his medium to get readers interested in the design and construction of aircraft. The Rhön sailing competitions were initiated by a call on March 24, 1920 in Flugsport (issue No. 6/7).
