Airplane type
Aircraft types , synonymous with aircraft types , are series , versions or variants of aircraft. In Europe, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issues type approvals for certain civil aircraft types so that each individual aircraft does not have to be approved individually. For individual aircraft without a type certification, EASA can also issue an experimental certification (single unit certification).
The German Federal Aviation Office (LBA) is also responsible for participating in the type approval of German models in countries outside the EU.
