A floodlight is a device for generating light.

A floodlight can illuminate a large area; H. enlighten. These headlights are used, for example, by the fire brigade to illuminate the scene of operations during nighttime operations and to enable relief measures . The higher a floodlight is installed, the better the location is illuminated. If the spotlight were at ground level, shadows would always prevail and the working people would be blinded and see little. Halogen lamps are usually used in the floodlights themselves ; these can consume several hundred watts. This power is generated either by a generator or by the alternator of an emergency vehicle during use . On other occasions, floodlights can also be connected to the normal power supply , but this is not permitted or possible in the event of use. This can be explained quite logically: theoretically, a power failure could occur at any time ; In order not to sit in the dark, off-grid power generators are used.
In football stadiums and at other festivities, floodlights are also used to properly illuminate the scene. Here, metal halide lamps , mercury vapor lamps , sodium vapor high-pressure lamps or LED headlamps used.
