Foal Eagle

Foal Eagle (German: Fohlen + Adler) is an annual military maneuver in South Korea since 1997 . Soldiers from the United States (particularly United States Forces Korea ) and the South Korean armed forces are participating . The number of participants has grown annually. In 2013, over 200,000 soldiers trained for two months in an emergency. North Korea regards this exercise as a test for an invasion of North Korea .

From 2001 to 2007 the maneuver Reception, Staging, Onward movement, and Integration ( RSOI ) was embedded in Foal Eagle. In 2008 this maneuver was renamed, so that the Key Resolve exercise has been part of Foal Eagle since 2008 . Key Resolve is a command training exercise for the United States Pacific Command . In 2013, 10,000 South Korean and 3,500 US soldiers took part in the Key Resolve exercise.
