Foma

Foma is the trade name of the company that was founded in 1921 under the name "Fotochema Ltd." in the Bohemian town of Hradec Králové . Initially only black and white photo materials were produced. After the company was nationalized in 1949, color films were gradually added to the range as well as industrial films, especially X-ray films.

After 1990, significant changes were made in the production processes to make the products more suitable for the world market. In this context, quality certification according to ISO 9001 took place. At present (end of 2005) Foma employs around 400 people. The current name of the company is completely “FOMA BOHEMIA spol. s ro “Currently (as of 2012) Foma only produces black and white photo and film materials.
