Fountain (juggling)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
4-ball fountain

The fountain is a basic pattern for juggling an even number of objects (e.g. balls , clubs or rings). Half of the objects are juggled individually in each hand. You don't change hands. For example, in a 4-ball fountain, each hand independently juggles two objects.

A distinction is made between synchronous and asynchronous fountains. In a synchronous fountain both hands throw at the same time, while in an asynchronous fountain the hands take turns throwing.

The fountain is used for an even number of objects because other patterns with alternating hands (such as the cascade ) do not work well for even numbers. A correct cascade is not possible with an even number of objects. But there are different patterns, such as B. Showers that can be juggled with even numbers.

In 2006 Anthony Gatto held an 8-ball fountain for one minute and 13 seconds.
