Fontlab is an outline font processing program from the company of the same name. It is similar to Fontographer and Fontforge . It is thus possible to design and edit your own fonts in PostScript , TrueType , OpenType and various other formats.

TrueType

With TrueType Visual Hints, FontLab offers a simplified way of editing the otherwise rather complex TrueType instructions . TrueType Visual Hints, however, only allow limited access to the options offered by the instructions. There is also no way to edit AAT features.

The program is characterized by a. through its Python interface, which can be used to control almost all aspects of font creation. A window for Python programming and a toolbar for managing created Python scripts are available directly in the program.

Multiple Masters

FontLab knows how to interpolate along several axes, but only allows two master cuts per axis.
