Footsteps in the Light is the first compilation album by singer and songwriter Yusuf Islam , formerly known as Cat Stevens.
history
The first compilation album by Yusuf Islam , released in April 2006, contains exclusively sung songs with choir and percussion accompaniment and is not comparable in terms of musical direction with his publications under the stage name Yusuf.
The individual tracks, recorded between 1981 and 2006 according to the text of the accompanying CD, can be described as commercial in the broader sense and some have a religious background; some pieces were recorded in Arabic. Connections to his career as Cat Stevens, which ended in 1978, form the reinterpretations of The Wind , Wild World (Bana, Bana) and Peace Train .
