Molded wood

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shaped wood is a generic term for two- or three-dimensional shaped products made of solid wood ( bentwood ), veneers ( molded plywood ) or made of fibers and chips ( molded chipboard ). The deformation occurs through heat and pressure. This permanently changes the shape of the wood and can be used for interior fittings or seating. Famous examples of seating furniture made with this manufacturing process are the 7 series by Arne Jacobsen and the lounge chair by Ray and Charles Eames .
