Form proof

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term form proof or proof refers to the printout of an imposed print sheet . The form proof is usually created on an inkjet printer and is colored, but not binding. It is used to check the status and completeness of all elements (content + print-specific elements such as color measuring fields, color acceptance strips, etc.).

If a form proof is considered approved, the printing form production follows (e.g. plate exposure in offset printing ).

The form proofs are then sent to the printing press, where the first printed sheet is compared with the form proof. Here it is again a matter of checking the status and completeness.
