The Forstbetriebsgemeinschaft Oberallgäu eV ( FBG OA ) was founded in February 1969, is divided into 12 other local associations and acts as a forestry association in southern Oberallgäu for its members. The status as a forest enterprise association according to the Federal Forest Act is recognized by the state, the FBG is non-profit. By bundling many small quantities and individual measures, FBG compensates for the disadvantage of small quantities and achieves high yields for small forest owners as well.

history

The founding meeting took place on December 8, 1969 in the "Engel" inn. On the initiative of the regional chairman of the farmers' association, Hans Rist, 37 forest owners came together to found the Oberallgäu eV forestry company. After 10 years in 1979 the FBG OA consisted of 687 members with a forest area of ​​approx. 8500 hectares, which were divided into 9 local associations. In 2000 the FBG OA consisted of 20,000 hectares of member area, which were divided between 2000 members. In the years that followed, cooperations and associations were set up to strengthen interests and services were continuously expanded. FBG OA has been based in the Green Center in Immenstadt since 2016. In 2018, the FBG OA had around 2900 members and an area of ​​around 22,000 hectares of forest.

Board

The board consists of the 1st chairman, the 2nd chairman and 6 other members as assessors. The board members are elected by the general assembly for a period of 6 years and remain in office until a new election.

General meeting

The members exercise their rights in the general assembly. The tasks assigned in the statutes include the election of the board of directors and the auditor, the approval of the budget and the adoption of resolutions.

Purpose and tasks

In accordance with its statutes, it pursues the purpose and goal of promoting private, communal and cooperative forest ownership and sustainably improving the management of all connected forest areas.

The FBG's area of ​​activity extends to the forest areas of its members in the area of ​​the cities, market communities and municipalities, including the associated districts in the Oberallgäu district: Bad Hindelang, Balderschwang, Blaichach, Bolsterlang, Burgberg, Fischen, Immenstadt, Missen-Willhams, Obermaiselstein, Oberstaufen , Oberstdorf, Ofterschwang, Oy-Mittelberg, Rettenberg, Sonthofen, Waltenhofen, Wertach.
