Forestry Association

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The forest enterprise communities (FBG; also forest owners associations ; loggers in Austria forestry communities ; WWG), as a special form of so-called Forestry associations are private law associations of landowners who have the purpose of the management of connected forest areas and specific reforestation plots to improve, in particular, the disadvantages of low surface area, surface unfavorable shape, holding chipping, the conflict situation to overcome an insufficient Forest access or other structural deficiencies (BWaldG). They serve u. a. Small forest farmers for more efficient management of their forest holdings and to improve the timber harvest and timber sales opportunities. The economic advantage of this form of organization results, among other things, from the joint use of expensive machines, the coordinated removal of the wood, joint construction of roads and joint marketing of the wood (which generally allows higher (wood) prices to be achieved). Another advantage of these alliances is the exchange of experiences among the members. The tasks of the FBGs are specified by the Federal Forest Act .

history

The result are the Forestry mergers end of 1940 - by the end of the 1960s -years due to the so-called Kleinteiligkeit partly of forest ownership from previous institutions because the sustainable management of the forest has been hampered in part by unfavorable ownership structures, small property sizes and complex situation.. Possible solutions arose through inter-company cooperation. In the course of an increasingly international wood market , especially after the opening of Eastern Europe in the early 1990s , independent management has become unprofitable for the majority of forest farmers with only a few hectares of forest. Inter-company cooperation became even more important in order to be able to remain competitive in a globalized market.

Among the Forestry mergers are in the Federal Republic of Germany to the Federal Forest Act, the forest enterprise communities, forest management associations and the Forestry associations whose duties are specified in the National Forest Act.

There has been a lot of discussion for a number of years about ways of adapting forestry associations to new or current requirements.

Structures

There are considerable differences in terms of organization and space.
