Fort Sao João Baptista (Machico)

The Fort São João Baptista , and Forte do Desembarcadouro called, is located near the quays in Machico in the town of Machico on the island of Madeira .

history

The Fort of Saint John the Baptist was built in the 18th century and classified as a Cultural Heritage of the Autonomous Region of Madeira on August 18, 1943 , where the Portuguese first landed to begin colonizing Madeira Island.
