Four Jacks and a Jill was a South African pop band .
Band history
The four members of the band founded the group Nevada in their native South Africa in 1964 , but remained relatively unsuccessful. After changing her image, hairstyle and name, she was more successful as a zombies . With the singer Glenys Lynne they named their band Four Jacks & a Jill , which was internationally successful around 1968.
Their increasing popularity gave them a record deal. With the title Timothy they had their first hit in their homeland in 1967. The song Master Jack followed . This title was not only a success in South Africa, the band even made it into the US charts at number 3 on the easy listening charts and in the top 20 of the official charts.
The follow-up single Mister Nico and the album Master Jack were also minor successes in the USA. The Four Jacks and a Jill remained popular in their homeland . The band disbanded in 1983 and was re-established in 2000.
