The Fröbelschule is a special school founded in Arnsberg in 1952 with a special focus on learning (grades 1 to 10), emotional and social development (grades 1 to 4) and language (grades 1 to 10).
history
It was the first of its kind in the Hochsauerlandkreis. It was given its current name in 1953 after the pedagogue Friedrich Froebel . Initially, lessons were held in the rooms of the former Norbertus School. After that, the Froebel School had to move three times in six years until it found its current location on the Schreppenberg in 1989. This became free because the Comenius School was merged with the Theodor Heuss School.
Today there are various projects for the pupils at the Froebel School, including a "Comenius" cooperation with schools from other European countries (Iceland, Austria and Bulgaria). This cooperation has existed since 2002. The Fröbelschule has also been participating in the “Independent School” project of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia since 2002 . Furthermore, some of the pupils are supervised in the afternoons in a “13+” program. The school has a support association made up of parents and other school members.
