Frank Hempel

Frank Hempel (born August 26, 1959 in Neustrelitz ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and former member of the German Bundestag .

Life

Hempel did an apprenticeship as a bricklayer and then attended the technical college to study civil engineering. From 1984 to 1985 he worked as a construction soldier , later as a site manager and since 1990 he has been working as an independent contractor. He is a professed Christian and belongs to the Seventh-day Adventist Church .

politics

Hempel did not belong to any party in the GDR; he only became a member of the SPD in 1990. During the fall of the Berlin Wall he was a co-founder of the Neustrelitz local association of the SPD, for which he had also sat in the Neustrelitz city parliament since 1990. He was a member of the Bundestag as a member of the Neustrelitz - Strasburg - Pasewalk - Ueckermünde - Anklam constituency in the fourteenth legislative period from 1998 to 2002.
