Frank Kostrzewa
Frank Kostrzewa (born July 8, 1960 in Gütersloh ) has been Professor of Linguistics and Language Didactics at the Karlsruhe University of Education since 2007 .
His areas of teaching include linguistics, German, English, Korean, didactics, and German as a foreign and second language.
Life and academic career
Kostrzewa studied English and pedagogy for teaching at upper secondary level at Bielefeld University . From 1990 to 1992 he was a research assistant in the teaching and research area “German as a Foreign Language” at Bielefeld University, where he was awarded a Dr. phil. received his doctorate. From 1993 to 1997 he was a visiting lecturer at Keimyung University and Kyungpook National University in Taegu , Korea. After his return from Korea in 1997, he went to the Wilnsdorf Gymnasium (North Rhine-Westphalia) as an English and pedagogy teacher . After a DAAD stay in Hungary, he worked from April 2001 to July 2003 as a research assistant in the German as a Foreign Language department at the Language Center of the University of Rostock and then until 2007 in a similar position at the University of Cologne. In 2007 he was offered a W 3 professorship for linguistics and language didactics at the Karlsruhe University of Education.
His research areas are contrastive linguistics , language comparison, language typology , word formation, lexicology and lexicography, phraseology , semantics , pragmatics , language history , psycholinguistics , language psychology , applied linguistics, German as a foreign language, intercultural communication .
