Franz Berberich

Franz Berberich († 1996 ) was a German architect and sculptor .

Career

From 1929 Berberich studied architecture among others with Bestelmeyer, Abel, Fischer and Döllgast at the Technical University of Munich . In the post-war period, his work made important contributions to the reconstruction of church parishes and in housing construction. From 1968 Berberich worked primarily as a sculptor and created not only sculptures but also bronze works on church portals and cemetery chapels. The Cross of Honor of the German Mother , or Mother's Cross for short, was designed by Berberich.

Franz Berberich Prize

The Technical University of Munich annually promotes outstanding results with a project character. The prize money is at least 1000 euros. The associated Franz Berberich Foundation was set up in 1992.
