Van Nu en Straks
Van Nu en Straks (Dutch for: Today and Tomorrow or Now and Later ) was a Belgian literary magazine that was first published in Flemish on April 1, 1893. Further editions appeared in 1894 and 1896 to 1901. The founders and editors were August Vermeylen , Prosper Antoine Van Langendonck and Emmanuel de Bom . The title font was designed by Henry van de Velde . The letters were difficult to decipher, inserted into a wavy line structure that symbolized the program.
Young poets who combined different currents of contemporary literature published in the magazine. They were particularly influenced by French naturalism and symbolism . Vermeylen’s essays and reviews contributed to the recognition of the other authors. In addition to the editors, the most important were Karel van de Woestijne , Herman Teirlinck and Stijn Streuvels .
