August Vermeylen
August Vermeylen (born May 12, 1872 in Brussels , † January 10, 1945 in Ukkel ) was a Flemish writer , literary critic , art historian and politician . He published a total of 20 books and was a representative of the Belgian Workers' Party in the Belgian Senate from 1921 to 1945 .
Vermeylen was acquainted with Henry van de Velde and when he founded the literary magazine Van Nu en Straks in 1893 together with Prosper Van Langendonck, Cyriel Buysse and Emmanuel De Bom , van de Velde designed the magazine's title page .
