The Franziskanerkloster Nördlingen , also called Klösterle , is a former monastery of the Franciscan Observants in Nördlingen in Bavaria in the diocese of Augsburg.

history

The monastery, consecrated to St. Nicholas and from 1279 to the Holy Virgin Mary , was founded before 1243 by citizens of Nördlingen; it was dissolved in 1536 during the Reformation . The choir of the monastery church and the convent buildings were demolished, but the nave of the church was preserved and was used as a fire station and warehouse.

The building now houses a hotel belonging to the NH Hoteles chain and the Nördlinger Stadtsaal with a theater stage .
