Women of Eurasia
The social association "Women of Eurasia" (Russian Женское общественное объединение "Женщины Эвразии" ) is a non-governmental organization in Chelyabinsk in Russia that campaigns for abandoned children and their rights.
activity
The organization has been working on projects that support children who live without a home for about 10 years. She trains volunteer women who mainly look after these children in hospitals.
In Chelyabinsk Oblast, many children abandoned by their parents live in hospitals. Others live on the streets, in basements, empty factory buildings, and other places. In many cases, the legal status of the children is unclear, as the parents usually have not given a declaration about the waiver of custody. The neglect of children in the hospitals leads to irreversible psychological and emotional damage.
The organization is currently working with 10 carers in four hospitals in Chelyabinsk. They support the children with emotional care and technical expertise. They also work to strengthen children's rights. The organization relies on donations from individuals. She also receives some financial support from the so-called "Presidential Fund" of the Russian Presidential Office.
The organization also offers free legal advice for people who work in their own groups for socially disadvantaged people. The chairman is Tatiana Schur.
history
The organization was founded in 2006. On February 15, 2016, she was registered with the Justice Department as a " foreign agent " for allegedly receiving funding from the UK Embassy in Moscow, the Magna Carta Fund for Human Rights and Democracy .
