Frazil ice cream
Frazil ice is a collection of loose, randomly oriented needle-shaped ice crystals in liquid water . It is in the form of slush and appears a bit oily when viewed from the surface of the water. It forms sporadically in open, turbulent, subcooled water, which means that it usually forms in rivers, lakes, and oceans on clear nights with air temperatures below −6 ° C.
Frazil ice is the first stage in the formation of sea ice .
