Fred Gallagher (* 1968; full name Frederick M. Gallagher III .; Nickname Piro ) is an American comic artist. He is best known as the author and illustrator of the webcomic Megatokyo . His drawing style is based on Manga .

The trained architect has been married to Sarah Wooden since December 31, 2003. The two live in Ann Arbor , Michigan .

Gallagher is a regular guest at anime conventions in the United States and Canada, including Anime Central and Otakon . Outside North America he was a guest at the Aya Again in Northampton in 2003 and at the Anime Expo in Tokyo (Japan) in 2004 .

Megatokyo

The webcomic Megatokyo began on August 14, 2000 in collaboration with Rodney Caston , who wrote the scripts. The two had different ideas about how the comic should develop and split in May 2002. Gallagher took over Megatokyo and made it his main occupation when he lost his job in October 2002.

other projects

In 1993 Gallagher's sister, Jeniffer Ann Gallagher, wrote a children's book called The Fine Red Cat . He was responsible for the illustrations.

Gallagher publishes various drawings on fredart that he has made in recent years.

envelop (e) is an earlier work Gallaghers from 1999, originally from dōjinshi -Zirkel MJ-12 was spread over Gallaghers friend Tsubasa. He later put the content on fredart .

warmth is a love story that Gallagher worked on before Megatokyo , but for which he has hardly found time since then. In 2003, parts of the story appeared in two issues of Amerimanga.

blurred is one page with six erotic drawings (two show naked female torsos). It was originally published in 1999 but was unavailable for a few years until Gallagher put it back online in June 2006. According to his information, he wanted to counter allegations that he was covering up their existence.
