Free Hessische Zeitung

The Freie Hessische Zeitung was a critical political newspaper of the German Revolution of 1848/1849 . It first appeared on March 13, 1848 and had the motto: “Everything through the people. Every work their wages. ”It came out three times a week and was probably hired after the 20th edition.

The newspaper appeared in Giessen . In addition to the writer and philosopher Moriz Carrière and the scientist and politician Carl Vogt as responsible editors and publishers, the natural scientist Ernst Dieffenbach also wrote for the paper.
