The overhead line crossing of Lake Maracaibo is a 9 km long overhead line crossing in Venezuela . It spans the Canal de San Carlos , a strait between Lake Maracaibo and the Gulf of Venezuela . The intersection runs not far from the city of Maracaibo between the suburb of Santa Cruz de Mara on the west side and the headland Sabaneta de Palmas on the east side. A bridge has been planned in the same place since 2013, [outdated] the Puente Nigale .

The double-circle overhead line crossing of Lake Maracaibo consists of 15 overhead line masts anchored on caissons in Lake Maracaibo . It consists of two parallel pipeline routes at a distance of 100 meters, which are combined to form a double pipeline on the westernmost mast of the crossing. In addition to the three westernmost masts, the masts are designed as delta masts with a height of up to 150 m, with the maximum passage height for ships being 48 m and the largest span 1264 m.
