Open-air museum Oberlienz
The Oberlienz open-air museum is a rural open-air museum in the East Tyrolean municipality of Oberlienz ( Lienz district ). The open-air museum was built from 1964 to supplement the farming collection of Schloss Bruck am Schleinitzgraben.
The Oberlienz open-air museum has a technical and economic history focus, with the smithy being the first to be relocated to the open-air museum in 1964/65. In 1969 further objects followed. The open-air museum currently has seven buildings.
Objects
The oldest building in the open-air museum is the so-called Haiglkasten from the middle of the 17th century. The building belonging to the Oberlienz No. 3 building is a two-storey, brick-built structure with a shingle-covered gable roof, which was externally adorned with simple architectural painting with corner blocks and a fascia frame. The northern segment arch portal has an inscription field with the year 1646.
The blacksmith's shop, which was relocated in 1964/65, is a farrier and shoeing shop that was originally located in the village of Thal in the municipality of Assling. After her move, it was rebuilt in a slightly different form with its functional interior. The single-storey wall construction with a board-covered gable roof has a wooden box channel with a cell paddle wheel and a water drum fan. Inside the forge there is a black hammer mechanism and a grinding stone driven by a pulley.
The wool card holder is originally a mill building, which was probably built in the 19th century and was subsequently adapted as a card holder . The wool box was transferred to the open-air museum in 1991 and is driven by an undershot paddle wheel with a wooden box channel.
Other buildings in the open-air museum are the last surviving Brechelstube in Oberlienz from the second half of the 18th century, the community saw built in 1834 and the Moserkasten, a two-storey granary in Lesendorf. The granary with brick basement and ground floor has an outside staircase to the upper floor and a late baroque architectural painting, whereby the year 1778 was immortalized.
The Lamprecht-Oberragger-Mühle and the Zoppmühle also belong to the open-air museum. While the first-mentioned building is a mixed construction built in 1995 instead of a previous building, the Zoppmühle probably dates from the 19th century. The mill has a grain mill with a pestle, the drive being via an overshot cell paddle wheel with a wooden box channel.
