prehistory

In 1975, the Heimatbund Freilichtmuseum Stehrerhof acquired the main building and restored it to its historical state with wooden shingles. The design is a hybrid of the Hausruckhof and the Innviertler Vierkanthof.

The outbuildings Troadkasten , Hoarstube with a pull-out platform for drying the capsules, Göpelhütte (1980), threshing machine museum (1985) including the house chapel and craftsman's house (1993) were moved from other locations. The threshing machine museum is the old cattle auction hall in Vöcklabruck. The craftsman's house is a Mittertennhof from the 16th century that was moved from the neighboring village of Sonnleiten. The drying house was reconstructed.

The museum opened in 1978.

Museum operation

Tradespeople days take place several times a year, at which almost 30 of the almost 70 representable skills are presented. Among other things, a fully functional threshing machine including a steam engine is used. During the so-called threshing weeks and at the Christmas and Easter markets , the products produced here such as cider, pickled sauerkraut, embroidery, schnapps and farmer's donuts can also be purchased.

The museum is run by the Heimatbund Freilichtmuseum Stehrerhof on a voluntary basis.
