Freemasonry of Santa Cruz de Tenerife

The Masonic Temple of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in Spain was the first Masonic temple in the Canary Islands .

The Masonic Temple was built between 1899 and 1902 and was commissioned by the Loga Añaza. The inauguration took place in 1904. However, the facade was not completed until 1923. It is one of the few Masonic temples in Spain that was not destroyed under the Franco regime . At that time, the building was expropriated and initially converted into the headquarters of the Falange and later into a military pharmacy. In 2001, the Santa Cruz Community finally bought the temple from the Department of Defense in 2001 for pesetas 70 million at a public auction.

The temple is part of Tenerife's cultural heritage, but has been closed for decades and can be visited after registration. The city government announced a renovation of the temple.
