Strangers Newspaper

The (Salzburg) foreign newspaper was published every six months from May to September on Tuesdays and Saturdays or Fridays and then twice a month in the 2 ° format. The subtitle was “Organ to increase tourism for Salzburg and the surrounding area” or, from 1889, “for Salzburg, the Salzkammergut and Styria”. In April 1890 the title was changed to “Fremd-Zeitung. Organ to increase tourism in Austria including the bordering Bavarian highlands ”. This title was used until 1902. The Salzburg tourist newspaper was published in Salzburg and the Zaunrith'sche Buchdruckerei is proven to be the printer.

The Salzburg foreign newspaper was a free copy that was distributed daily to travelers on stations of the kk state railway and in wagons as well as on ships of the kk priv. Danube steamship company. It contained tourist reports on places inside and outside the monarchy, as well as timetables and an extensive advertising section.
