Atelierhaus Dolderstrasse, Zurich, 1941

The architecture office Frey and Schindler with branches in Zurich and Olten existed from 1936 to 1947. Office partners were the architects Ernst Schindler (1902–1994) and his previous colleague Hermann Frey (1908–1980).

Together, Frey and Schindler were able to erect some buildings in Olten, right at the beginning of the partnership the Olten lido (1936–37) and the expansion of the Frohheim schoolhouse (1936–37). The studio and residential building on Dolderstrasse was completed in 1941 and is noticeable due to the two-storey studios on the corner of the building. Before the Second World War, the administration building for the Swiss Samaritan Association and the cantonal bank in Binningen followed in Olten . After the war, the Swiss club range was created in the joint office .

After separating in 1947, the two architects continued to run their own offices in Zurich (Ernst Schindler) and Olten (Hermann Frey). At the end of the 1950s / beginning of the 1960s, the architects jointly planned the cantonal hospital in Olten.
