Peace of Pressburg 1491
The Peace of Pressburg in 1491 was concluded between Maximilian I and Vladislav II .
After the death of Matthias Corvinus on April 6, 1490, Maximilian I recaptured the occupied Lower Austrian territories and Vienna and also invaded Hungary to secure the royal crown. However, he lost to Vladislav.
On November 7, 1491, the former opponents concluded a peace treaty in which Maximilian recognized the rule of Vladislav in Hungary and at the same time secured the right of inheritance if Vladislav should die without a male heir.
