Friedrich Heither

Friedrich Heinz Heither (born March 9, 1934 ) is a German lawyer and former presiding judge at the Federal Labor Court.

Life

Heither studied law and economics at the Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg im Breisgau from 1954 to 1958. In 1964 he received his doctorate with a thesis on “The collective labor law in Switzerland”. From 1964 to 1973 he was a judge at the Ulm Labor Court. In 1974 he was appointed judge at the Federal Labor Court in Kassel. From 1987 to 1999 he was presiding judge of the pension senate. He is co-author of “Fitting” (standard commentary on works constitution law). Author of numerous articles in magazines and festschriften. Co-author of a commentary on the Labor Court Act.

Heither has been working as a lawyer in a Berlin law firm since 1999.
