The Frietmuseum is a potato museum in Bruges, Belgium . It is located in the historical center of the city.

Opened in 2008, the three-storey museum was set up in a historic listed building from 1399. The building was the seat of the silk trade of the Republic of Genoa .

The exhibits on the ground floor tell the history of the potato, beginning 3000 BC. In Peru again. The first floor shows the details of the history of the potato, french fries and their origins in Belgium. In the basement there is a café and collections of photographs and works of art relating to historical potato peeling and chip machines. A video show outlines how to make perfect fries.
