History and design

The fountain made by the sculptor Eduard Kubovsky was donated to the community of Waltendorf by the waterworks of the city of Graz ( called Holding Graz since 2010 ) on the occasion of the expansion of the water supply network . Originally it was a so-called running fountain . Today it no longer has any water, the basin has been used as a flowerbed.

The basin is adorned with the inscription "Wasserleitungsbau - Waltendorf 1935" . The group of figures consists of three naked children sitting on a small rock. A frog, which originally wore a crown, sits on the knees of the seated boy. The fountain was named after the fairy tale " The Frog King or the Iron Heinrich " (from the collection of the Brothers Grimm ).
