Foot kiss

The foot kiss is a historic gesture of submission . In the Middle Ages and up to modern times, it had mainly symbolic and legal significance, for example as an act of submission by the feudal man to the emperor in certain situations or by secular princes to the pope .

Today the kiss on the feet has almost completely disappeared.
