Toenail prosthetics

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Fußnagelprothetik or Fußnagelkorrektur is in the podiatry applied if the toenail (of podiatrists usually toenail called) was heavily injured. This can happen due to nail fungus attack (nail mycosis), trauma or nail extraction. If at least a small part of the natural nail plate is still present, toenail prosthetics can then be used in this case. The missing nail parts are replaced with an elastic plastic compound, whereby the color of your own toenails is also taken into account. The nail is thus visually restored so that the damage is not noticeable when walking barefoot, visiting the swimming pool or sauna and when wearing open shoes. This measure not only improves the health of the toe area, but also aesthetically improves the psychological well-being of the person concerned.
