Fulus is a name for copper coins that were made as small change in Morocco until the 19th century . They were also manufactured using the simpler casting process until the 19th century, although the embossing process had long since established itself in other regions since antiquity. Fulus denotes both the singular and the plural. The name probably goes back to the Roman bronze coin Follis .

1, 2 and 3 Fulus coins were minted. Although it was a copper coin, the material value was not inconsiderable. The 3 Fulus coin pictured on the right has a weight of 9.35 grams.

2 to 5 zelagh corresponded to 1 fulus, 24 fulus = 1 mazuna, 4 mazunas = 1 dirham .
